Cruising the Amazing Amazon - Vacation Bible School 2010
July 12—15, 5:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
This year there will be a different
format than has been used in the past. Each night will start with a family dinner for everyone participating, not just volunteers.
Lucy Mulder will be coordinating dinners and will need volunteers for each of the four nights. Also, this year the children will stay
in one group, instead of being separated into smaller groups as has been done in the past. This will make it easier for the volunteers
so they only do each activity with the children once instead of four times a night. Bible story time will be in the sanctuary on the
stage. The children will feel really special when they get to be where normally only adults are allowed. For the un-churched children,
it helps them feel church is a
comfortable place to be, not a stuffy, scary place.
Penny Challenge: Start saving your pennies
and other coins! The younger children will be challenging the teens this year.
Calling all teens (6th-12th grades)! There has
always been great participation from the teens of our church and neighborhood and this year they will be having VBS of their own.
Instead of leading the children around, during craft time, they will have their own discussion time about the Bible story each night.
Families are encouraged to stay with their children throughout the night and enjoy the fun of Vacation Bible School.
